This is a twofold post.

First, have any of you experienced wrist pain from the weight of the bean's neck?

Second, I've got Standard 1711 that I may be parting with, as a result of the previously mentioned pain.

What would those of you in this forum be willing to pay for a standard? I'm just trying to weigh my options, and see whether selling the instument would be worth it. Just curious.

No gain my friend

Seriously...I expierneced the same problem at first with my 1000. That was about 4 years ago. I've been playing it regularly now for about one year (I used it on and off for recording during the previous three years)...the pain will go away...your arms and wrist will get stronger...

As far as sale goes...there lots of factors...condition...color...original pickups...

My two cents...Magnolia body Bean good condition (i.e. some wear and tear)...original pickups, nut, bridge and imron coating on the neck...worth about $2k...this is my price range...not the markets...

But seems like people have been paying upward prices for color finish or Koa...excellent condition...etc...I'll check the vintage buyers guide when I get home...but there prices are usually wack for such specialty markets (i.e. I wish I could buy a beat up 500 for $2k)...

My advice...It's a great guitar that takes some getting used to (just like strats if you played les pauls all your life)...Those Humbuckers are very unique...HB power with some Tele cut...

Well, the thing is that I've been playing this guitar A LOT for the last year and a half. and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

As far as condition goes, I'd say good condition, with the usual playing wear from a guitar that's been used. I'm posting some pictures on photobucket, at the following url's.

Per the crackers at Vintage Guitar Magazine TB-1000S
Low - $2k
High - $3k

Caveat: They value a TB-500 exactly the same...I also seem to remember a few years ago they were valuing your guitar in the $800-$1k realm (which was low at the time, as the market for them had already picked up)

Yours looks pretty sweet...Too bad its not for you (I've had the same experience with certain gear)

I think the economics of the people who really want beans kind of limits the market...When I sold my TB500...there were lots of interested parties...but very few people who could cough up the dough...

good luck
