Hi. New to the group. Case for my 1000A is finished. Can anyone recommend a good, solid, readily available alternative. Really not crazy about gig bags. thanks Mike

It's not the original case. It's some piece of crap that looks like it might have been an 80s Gibson (doesn't say gibson) case for a 335. too big for the Bean (I added a blanket to keep the guitar from flopping around) and none of the plastic latches close properly, so it's a disaster waiting to happen.

I got a Gator case for my 1000S that was originally intended for a Bass. The guitar fits in snugly, and there is a few inches at either end for added protection. It's not the most compact option, but it definitely provides solid protection. I bet if you take your instrument to Guitar Center (god forbid) or some other large music store you can try it out in a wide variety of cases. Or you could get something made custom. I agree - gig bags don't cut it for a Bean.

Any new case for a gibson es 335 style guitar works well. A bit of space around the edges, but guitar is pretty snug when case is closed.

Thanks guys. Sounds like I'm going to spend awhile trying out cases - a buddy has a 335, so I'll start with his. Not many big music stores where I live unfortunately, but I'll still be able to test drive a few cases. thanks again Mike

success! I tried a teardrop shaped case that had a strat in it and low and behold, a perfect fit!
