I have been considering getting my 500 refretted recently and was wondering if anyone had any special advice I should pass on to the tech who will do the job.

It's a rosewood fretboard and I gather that those are quite easy to chip when refretting. Does anyone know what kind of frets were used or how high they were made when they were straight from the factory?

i would think that any good reputable guitar repairman would only need to know, if you want to different size fret wire than what is on there. i have seen my guy do dozens of refrets, rosewood, ebony, maple, nary a problem.

I haven't got around to getting it done yet, it's not desperate just yet but I will probably do it at some point in the year. Let you know what happens when I do (cross your finger for me!).
