I have a couple small dings in the pickup covers of my artist that I would like to straighten out... Are the covers difficult to remove, and what are the risks? Is the epoxy potting fragile, do I need to desolder, etc...?
Thanks
Alex

My understanding is that because of the epoxy potting the covers are nearly impossible to get off without damaging the pickup. You'd be better off living with the dings.

That's what I suspected.

Thank you.

Agreed.

Unfortunately tuning into dents and dings is a curse I aquired working in a body shop....
Thanks

I'm going to leave it alone & keep the solder joints intact...99% of people would never noticed a couple of pick dings and that guitar is sounding absolutely perfect!

Replacing the pickup with another TB pickup might be an option. One is on eBay now...
