I have not been paying close attention lately, but does anyone know about these new Travis Bean clones that someone is building and selling in Europe? They appear to have wood necks, but seem identical otherwise. If you look at Ebay Germany right now, there are two "500" versions for sale, called the 5.55 or something similar, an "artist" looking model, serial #1 for sale and even pickups that have the original Travis Bean logo on a sticker underneath. Take a look: http://tinyurl.com/4u2lbue I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about these guitars. Do we think this is a good thing or not? Are they stealing the good name of Travis Bean or keeping it alive? Lots of different angles to consider. If anyone knows of a web-site for these new guitars, please enlighten me. Cheers. -(going back to my old moniker)

Travis, himself is not associated in any way with this builder.. and is quite upset about what this person is doing. "Good thing or not?".. the bottom line it's not supported or approved by the man himself.. so for me, personally.. it's thumbs down.
