Curious.. what will be your next gear purchase.. amp, pedal, guitar/bass, etc?
For me... tough call. Thinking about a new head. Might dive in the world of Class A. Love Matchless stuff.. just pricey. Couple of pedals in mind. It's Spring time, and for whatever reason, that gets me itchy for buying something new.

I've already paid for my next big purchase, but now it's just a waiting game! It's an entirely aluminum RD-Artist shaped EGC bass, with TB2000 replica pickups and the same neck that was on the EGC TB2000 reissues. It's got a Kahler tremolo bridge, and really really dark flat purple powdercoat. I've still got 11 weeks left, but I'm counting down the days!
I shouldn't even get started with amps... I love my setup, but once I start checking other stuff out, I'll go purchase crazy with things I don't need!

I love these posts!
I currently am playing through a 120 watt Black Amp, which is a great amp but the only (minor) complaint that I have is that clean tones are harder to achieve at high volume; that is why I want to upgrade to the 180 KT 88 version of my amp! Aside from that, I am looking to buy a vintage (late 60's) SG but I am not 100 percent committed to this (yet).

I've never owned a Bean, but I have 2 EGC's. Would love to get a Bean some day, but the prices. Oh, the prices. I play through a Matchless HC30, though, and I can confirm that it is an awesome amplifier for an aluminum guitar. It's easy to get it too bright, however. But the damn thing can sound like a piano if you want it to. Here's my EGC's. The C500 I just got last week. I ordered it last summer. Love it. Love the Standard as well. http://maripool.smugmug.c.....536/845030369_epdRf-L.jpg

BTW, this was obviously my first post after lurking for a long time. Never felt right posting when I don't own a Bean, but I figured what the hell.

Hello trey
Welcome to the site. Definitely don't need to own a Bean to participate in the forums!
I've been eyeballing the HC30 for years.. and the Independence. What cab are you using (what speakers) with it? The other guitarist in the band I play in has a DC30, so I definitely know what they're all about. Great amps!
That's an awesome. Nice looking C500!

Well, I have the matching Matchless 2x12 open back cab, with the factory mismatched speakers. http://matchlessamplifiers.com/212.html I also have an Orange 4x12 closed back that I like for bigger rooms/stages. My wife plays also and has a Matchless Clubman (she plays Telecasters). The Clubman is an EL34 head. I "borrow" her head sometimes for shows and leave mine at home. I'd put it more in the Hiwatt territory, maybe a little glassier clean sound that is typical of Matchless. I love the amps, and you can find a good deal on them used (both of mine were bought this way.) $1500 is what you can expect to pay for a really nice Clubman, and they are awesome amps.

Welcome Trey! How do you like your EGCs? That is cool that you're playing a Matchless - I have always wanted to try one out! I'm also a big fan of the Orange 4x12 cabs, for some reason, they sound so much better then comparable cabs.
@ Admin: The Black Amps (Green/White etc) are really great sounding amps and I am starting to see a lot of people use them. If you ever make it out to San Francisco, you're more then welcome to come down to the studio and put it though the paces!

Hank, are you still playing through your Rivera? I ALMOST got rid of mine last week; I haven't been playing it very much, but it's such a nice amp that I know I'm going to go back to it someday.
1uncertain3, I absolutely second your opinion of the Orange cabs. I've got a 412 and 212 and both of them sound great. I had to replace a speaker in the 412 pretty early on (I may have even bought it like that), but I haven't had any other problems.
On topic: I really want to build a Telecaster Custom (with CBS headstock). I'm sure I'd just get a stack of Warmoth gear and try to do it cheaply. At the very least I want to get one of the Squier Classic Vibe Telecasters. For the money those things are too cool. And, for the same basic reasons, I want an Epiphone G400.
Eventually I'd like to mix a couple of G12Ts into my Orange.
And......someday.....an EGC. What? We're all aluminum geeks here.
How many of you have ever had first-hand experience with Ceriatone Amps? They seem to offer a lot of advantages for those of us with constant gas. I would love to get some time with one of their Hiwatt clones.
Great topic!
-Matt

Ceriatone amps are awesome. The guy who runs Ceriatone is Nik. I had one of their Matchless clones, and I sold it to a friend a while back. Later I bought a real one, and I can say first hand that there is no difference that I can spot. They are built great. I may look into one of their Hiwatt (Hey What?) clones at some point myself.

Hey Matt.. yeah, I'm still playing through the Knucklehead 100. I've been bouncing around on several 'want' ideas. Thought bout Reeves head.. thought about a Germino. I think Hiwatts sound pretty great, and the Reeves is a nice clone with some sweet features. I do really like the knucklehead though. Very versatile amp.. never lets me down.

www.ceriatone.com I used to have a Knucklehead 100! Damn, it was loud! The Reeves amps--that guy was one of the builders for Hiwatt, right? Should be pretty great amps.
