What modern (available!) pickups would most resemble the original Bean's sound for the TB 2000? Got a project going on...
Thanks-
Stew

I've been looking for a number of years, and I don't know of any modern pickup that is constructed as the TB PUPs seem to be. I don't know about the parameters of the coils that surround the pole magnets, but there is a housing of what appears to be mild steel that I believe functions to focus the magnetic field more intensly on the strings. I think this is why TB2000 PUPs have more output than many active PUPs. I know this doesn't help much, but it'd be interesting if some kindly pickup maker/designer would consider reconstructing TB2000 pickups.
