Are all the Travis Bean's signed on the back? I have seen a few that are, but mine is not.

I have seen them signed on the plate that covers the wiring for the pots. This piece can be replaced easily, so I was questioning whether it was the original plate.

Mine was not signed and I purchased it new. You do mean on the outside right? I don't recall that I've ever taken my cover off.

Yeah, on the outside. I saw one signed on the main aluminum piece as well.

Hey Joe,
Well I've actually not seen another Bean in the flesh other than my own but have seen several photos on this site and I believe I only saw one bass with a signature (it was etched into the metal on the back of the body (not the electronics cover). I'm pretty sure it is rare if you find one signed.
Best regards,
Rick

I own TB 2000 #570, which in my eyes is one of the rarest 2000's out there, because it's painted (black), it's signed on the neck by Travis and Marc (there's a picture of it in the registry) and because it's the only lefty 2000 I've ever laid eyes on. The inscription is "dedicated" to the original owner (who I'm guessing had it custom made). Thanks to the inscription, I know the original owner of my bass was in a band with CSN's drummer and an ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist. The best part is that I got it off Ebay for about 1/4 of it's worth, and an ex TB employee ran in to the original owner and e-mailed me to tell me about it (thanks to this site).

My bass is number 42, and there are four "practice" signatures on part of the neck that is covered by the body. There is also a set of lightning bolts stamped into it near the signatures. I'll try to post a picture of it sometime soon.

I have a travis bean bass, serial number 345, aluminium neck, bright pink body. When i was examining it once, i took off the back silver plate, on the back of the plate someone had inscribed Travis, i always presumed it had been done by a previous owner, do you think this could have been a signature?

Try comparing the handwriting against others in the gallery. You can see Travis' pretty clear in the pic of my TB2000 570.
