Have just started building some new jigs to make an aluinium neck with just carpenters tools. I did this before and it worked out fine but never documented anything. I am posting pictures as i progress on my facebook. I dont think ive set it to private so you should be able to see photos. If not just send friend request. So far ive made and tested the jig to do the neck (not fretboard) profile. Ive worked out how to do an eliptical curved neck as opposed to the full radius profile of a bean. Should be more like an egc's profile.
Test piece of timber came out well, just a couple of minor allignment issues.

Just to add, this method is totally cost ineffective for a commercial venture but may be handy info for those who have access to decent carpenters tools and a bit of know how and are keen on building an aluminium neck without having to fork out mega bucks for metalworking machinary.

i'm really interested in this .. a few years ago i was thinking of going the expensive 'metalworking machinery' way but didn't.
