Sorry about the super long URL but I don't know how to shorten it.
Refinished standard number 1569. Non original pickups, refinished in baby blue, BIN at $3,200. Almost wish the owner would have left it in its previous (messed up) state. Could have been a good deal on a great project. Still looks nice as is, but pricey considering. Merry Christmas, holidays, etc! Thanks, everyone, for the contributions that make this forum an excellent resource! -Tom

Interesting choice of color and quite expensive considering the pickups are not original TBs. The listing claims that "The pickups are Fender Dynamic Range humbuckers that have been gutted and fitted with the proper Bean inside." I'm not really sure what "proper Bean inside" means.
The seller is based in Pensacola, FL. I wonder if there is any connection with Kevin and EGC (also based in Pensacola). Probably just a coincidence.

If you read the bottom of the description the seller says that the work was done by "this guy" with links to the ECG website and myspace. "This Guy" most probably being Kevin. I kind of like the color, it's nice to see something a little different seeing as it is a refin anyway. I am a bit bummed on the price though when you consider it has non original saddles, pickups, paint job and whatever else. Someday I will find my project Bean, hopefully in a dumpster or a pawnshop! (but you don't have to remind me of the likely hood of that)

To be fair seller doesn't say "this guy" as I said in previous posts. I must have just made that up in my head. Don't want to mis quote.

No, you are right. That blue standard is the work of Kevin from EGC. take a look at his MySpace BB

Kevin of EGC posted about his work on that particular guitar in a thread under the Mods/Repairs section a few months ago:

The color sorta reminds me of the one Duane Dennison used to play with The Jesus Lizard (perhaps that was the inspiration...)

Since Kevin did this, I'm sure the pickups are done properly. He should note his connection with EGC in the EBay listing. It would give bidders confidence in the quality and condition of the instrument. I'm interested to see how the auction goes.

This guitar was done by Electrical(me). The pickups are rebuilt to TB specs, just as the first prototype humbuckers for Travis Beans were indeed Fenders and the first few even had the Fender logo as well.
The price reflects the time that was spent on it as well as the cost of the hacked up guitar. If it doesnt sell Ill just hold onto it. I got a black standard recently and really dont need 2 standards.
I do come across many hacked up Beans and enjoy rebuilding them and putting them back together to be played once again. I generally try and go back original, but there was no way to tell the original color etc. So, I just painted it a color I liked and worked with what was left of original parts.

HI!
I know exactly what you mean Kevin, it DOES take a lot of time and work to rebuild some of the hacked up Beans, I've done it also, so I do know you mean. You know, even with non original parts and even different pickups, Bean still sound great. True, something like your guitar isn't all original, it's still going to be a great player Bean for someone. This is a good way for someone to get a TB with an original neck an experience a real TB guitar. Let's face it, things like color are not going to effect how good a guitar is. I wish I could afford it, it looks great.
I hope it does well for you, Greg

It's GORGEOUS Kevin. You did a phenominal job. If I didn't have so many I would definitely buy it. It is worth that price for sure and is - like you and Gregg say, a perfect Bean for someone looking to get a Bean that does not yet have one or for someone to play out with and not worry about getting nicked and dinged (or is it knicked). NICE JOB!!!!
