I've read that the original cases had a foam or glue that reacted with the aluminum or body to cause damage to the guitar. Was this something specific to travis bean cases or is something to still watch out for? Are there any current types/brands of cases that can cause damage? I need a hard case for my bean and just want to make sure I'm not putting my baby in any danger.

The flightcases that came with the TBs had a foam in them that contained a chemical that liked to bond with a chemical in the laquer that was sprayed on the TB bodies. I'm not sure if the chemical in the foam is something common to most foams, but you could always avoid buying a case with foam lining so you don't have to worry about it.
