Hey all, I recently purchased TB1000A #125 (will send to the database later today) and my pickups are very microphonic. I play loud, medium to high gain music in a loud band and I'm feeding back like crazy. Has anyone had success with wax coating Bean pickups or done anything else to help reduce microphonics? The solder joints are untouched and otherwise the guitar is in perfect lightly played condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I contacted Kevin at EGC and he says that wax coating will have "slight success."

Update: I had my Bean pickups wax potted and it seemed to do the trick, silent as can be at high volumes and increased sustain because I'm not feeding back. Kevin at EGC said that he'd have no hesitation with having the work done.

While potting them works really well, I've found that potting pickups kills some of the air on the top end. I have original Gibson PAF's that are not potted and they don't squeal. Seems to me as the pickups that will squeal have a top cover that has an air pocket as the cover's not totally flat.
