Going out on a limb here, but based on the description text I'd say this (and the other white TB4000) is from Vincent Gallo's 'collection'

no limb, it's definitely gallo

the description is pure poetry:

FOR SALE: Vintage TRAVIS BEAN Wedge model TB4000 bass. This bass was formerly owned by a World War II veteran who played it for many years. Having served so proudly to help easily defeat the terrible Nazi's the original owner returned home from the second world war in 1947 and started playing music. In the 1950's he purchased a very early Fender bass. Our proud war hero played his wonderful Fender bass for many years until sometime in the 1970's he walked into a guitar shop in New York City and noticed this very unusual bass. With great excitement he held the Wedge and began playing it. He fell in love and purchased the bass on the spot, sold his Fender and played his beautiful Wedge until his death in 1998. The same year the masterpiece BUFFALO 66 was released. Unfortunately sometime in the early 1990s the original Anvil flight cases interior foam started to rot and caused some damage to this beautiful basses finish. A light overspray and buffing was required to restore it to its original black pearl color. The restoration/refinish was professionally done and while in the shop the dirty old pots were updated as well as the input jack. Unlike the junk bass our German "friend?" is selling ($20,000). This basses neck can be played without carrying around a blow dryer to heat the neck back into shape. This basses neck sets up perfectly and remains so in any condition and with any strings. Because of the refinish and changed pots the bass falls far outside the line of 100% collector grade and thus it is not for me. This bass remains a extremely rare, beautiful and awesome playing and sounding instrument and its low price more than reflects its short comings. . Get it while you can. $100 gets it fed ex ground service to any mainland USA location. All others to pay actual shipping charges. Pickup and viewing in Los Angeles welcome. Schönen Dank, Besten Dank, Haben Sie vielen Dank, Ich danke Ihnen and Dankeschön. USA FOREVER

...and someone is trying to "sell" this same guitar here in Toronto on craigslist for $1800 (!)

I've flagged the post a few times - it sounds like a quick and easy way to get mugged, especially since its the exact same description and pictures from the eBay auction:

actually the text may have been from when it was previously listed (for $9k?) - but it's the same Bass (serial number)
