Another great piece from Obe's collection on eBay. This time it's a Travis Bean TB500 Prototype pickup.

Here is partial description:

"Up for auction is rare vintage Travis Bean TB500 soapbar style single coil pickup. This type of pickup was used only on the prototype series TB500 guitars, two of which went to Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead. The pickup is encased in a white resin casting, later pickups were potted in plastic covers. This piece is NOS (New Old Stock) and original part that was never installed on a guitar. Resistance measures 6.03K ohms on my multimeter. The lead wire measure 7 inches long and there are no signs that the ends have ever been soldered. The note you see in the photo was stored with the part when I found it. Just to be clear, this part is identical to pickups on the guitars used by Jerry Garcia but this actual pickup was never installed in Garcia's guitar or any other guitar. This piece comes from a small collection of Travis Bean parts that belonged to my late brother who was a Travis Bean employee. I'll be happy to answer any questions."

No reserve, 7 day auction.
