On my TB1000, on both the Treble and Rhythem modes when the volume knobs are turned all the way down, sound is still heard coming through my amps.

I really am unsure about what this is. Any information will be a great help.

Peter

Sorry about the typo in the Subject field. Is there an edit function?

Peter,

It could be a number of things, but first try a different cable to the amplifier.

Next I would use a multimeter to check the ground path inside the guitar, using the external ground of the input jack as point A.

Check the solder joint at the output jack's ground. Based on your description, I would look for either a bent potentiometer lug short, or a problem at the jack.

Early Switchcraft long threaded barrel input jacks were nickel plated brass. When the nickel inside the shaft wears off, brass then becomes the contact surface. Not good. These jacks were popular in the late 70's, and it was very common to replace them after 1-2 years for working musicians. So there's another place to check.

Anyhow, it's a start. Best of luck.

I have the same problem on both of my beans, i thought the output of the pickups was just really hot?

Is there anyway to reduce the output level? I want all the tone but not as hot of a signal sent to the amp.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Eddie
