When I purchased my 1st bean I found it in the vintage guitar magazine in 1998. The ad read Travis Bean guitar for sale for $495.00 (never mentioned a model). I called the shop the very next morning and asked if the TB guitar was still for sale for $495.00 and the person said yes. I sent 2 US Postal money orders for the total in an overnight enevolpe and waited a day to call the store back to make sure that they got the cash. After 24hrs I gave them a call again and asked if they got the money which they replied yes and gave me a ups tracking # and said the guitar was on the way. A day later the bean was at the ups hub as I had the guitar sent "hold for pickup" so that it didn't have to go out for delivery. So the next morning I go the the ups hub to pick up the guitar and head out to the parking lot after I sign for the package. This is the best part- I never asked the store what model the bean was for sale because I knew at $495.00 it was a steal. I opened the box and put the case on the car and opened it up and it was a TB500 ! I still have the guitar---That's a happy story.
Next week I'll give you my Happy Wedge story.
Now I have a TB500 -Wedge- Standard-Artist purchased in that order
Do you have a Happy Bean story ?
