What was wrong with the old one? I don't think I've ever seen an input jack "go bad". At the worst, you might have to take the plate off of the control cavity and bend the metal tab inward a bit so it holds the cable tighter, but that's about it.
I've actually never tried to remove the input jack on a TB...

it's funny because i was told by a friend that this happens pretty often however there's no mention of it in these forums at all so obviously it's rare for a bean to need a new input jack.
so i took off the plate and just made sure everything was tight. i checked all the wires and put the plate back on. no more problems. the input is fine. i just needed to do a little tightening and now it's working perfect.
thank you for the response.

I've had a continual problem with the output jack when using a instrument cable with a standard 1/4" plug where the connection breaks from time to time and wiggling the plug in the jack helps, but doesn't eliminate the problem. I've been using Planet Waves cables with the compression ring on the ground, but I think the jack has a problem with the tip connection. I finally decided to get a new jack and ordered item #1819 from Stewart-Macdonald. I don't expect any problems with the retrofit.
