Hey all! I acquired my dream bass guitar today. I'm proud to say that I'm the official new owner of TB2000 #528! I wanted one of these for a while but never thought I'd own one, given their rarity and price. An opportunity presented itself and I took it. No regrets there.
I think my first exposure to the world of TB was through watching '90s tJL performances and noticing Duane Denison's beautiful seafoam green Standard. Around the same time, I discovered the music of Shellac and fell in love with Bob Weston's aggressive, driving bass tone. Fast-forward a few more years later, I became totally obsessed with Silkworm and noticed that Tim Midyett, too, was the owner of a Travis Bean. My absolute favorite bands seemed to have this one thing in common - even Steve Malkmus played an Artist! I knew I had to have one, and now I do. It's a pretty cool feeling.
Everything about this instrument is inspiring. The craftsmanship is on its own level entirely, the tone is amazing and the feel is far more comfortable than you'd imagine coming from experience on wooden necks exclusively. It's not just a bass guitar, it's a work of art designed and developed by an incredibly forward-thinking mind. Right up there with the original Fender instruments in terms of influence and history, as far as I'm concerned.
It's a good day, and I had to share. My band is set to record its debut EP next month, and I surely didn't think I'd be bringing one of these to the sessions.

Congrats on your first Bean TB2000! I remember the feeling when I acquired my Bean TB2000. It's versatile, plays well and has amazing sustain and volume. I also like how nicely it stays in tune.
