It's the artist and looks like the guitar AFTER is was retro-fitted with the black epoxy single coils. i've never seen a photo of him using the guitar post-modification!

no, that is lindley and believed to be the first appearance of the 1000A #51.

#715 is seen in the Dec 13, 1978 shot here at my Jerry TB webpage.

Waldo,

Thanks for that link. You have put together what I believe is the definitive photo and video history of the Garcia TB lineage and history. I believe the serial number captions are correct for each photo and video and jibe with the research I did when #715 came up for sale at auction a few years ago. At first it was unknown if #715 was ever played live. The photo you have posted is the only shot I have ever seen of Garcia playing #715. Until another photo or information emerges, my conclusion is that he only played #715 live once.

If you're interested, I have found a number of shots of Garcia playing his various Beans with the Jerry Garcia Band during the same time period.

Thanks again and well done.

Peter

Peter,

that page is mostly built off of the evidence, but mostly the great work you and others here helped to solve. i would love nothing more then to colloborate and truly define that page further. but as you know, it's pretty much complete as far as chronology. i'd love to get the pictures i saw of the jerry TB500 pickguard template. i believe i saw it here, but would love to look over any photo's any one has of him with his beans.

thanks to all of you!

peace,
waldo

Waldo,

Send me your e-mail address and I'll send you all the photos I have found. I believe the pickguard photos are from Kurt's E-Bay listing for the white 500 #18.

My address is: mayer at aquacraft dot com.

Cheers,

Peter
