hi, wiggle here.

here is the waveform of the output of three TBs:

-3000 Wedge Guitar #39, Probably Koa: 4.2kg (with coil tap that switches between single coil and humbucker.)
-1000 Standard #1559, Slimline (Alder? Magnolia: 4kg)
-500 #16 Prototype (Magnolia?) 4.2kg.

photos of the guitars in the database section.

here's the actual soundfile http://www.unsound.com/GTR/TBW/TBcontest.mp3.

no effects, no amplification, strummed with open strings at the bridge position to try to get the loudest signal possible (this is science and not art, folks.)

any who are inspired by the above may even find our music inspiring:

hope this was of some use.

Check out the reviews on the Wedge here: http://www.harmony-centra.....Guitar/Data4/Travis-Bean/ See the second review in the Wedge section for Steve's story about changing the body of his Artist from Poplar to Koa. Also, a spaceage guitar called the birdfish has interchangeable wooden resonators whereby one can change their tone. http://www.teuffelguitars.....nte/birdfish/index_e.html Craziest looking guitar I know of. $5000 is a bit hard on the wallet though...

This is cool, and a great way to compare the initial "source". My only comment is that while knowing what comes out of your guitar is great, the final product has a lot more to do with keeping that initial source pure on it's way to the amp, and what happens to it when it gets to the amp. The front end of a lot of amps out there will eat those differences (in level/dynamics and a little in frequency). I would like to see some other guitars done the same way for comparison.
