Hey, please post pics of altered beans. Floyd Rose trems anyone? Tb500's with humbuckers? Come on you know they're out there. Don't be afraid to be laughed at and ridiculed. You know you were rocking in a big hair cover band! Please post some pics!

I decided to jump my random train of thought from the Buzz Feiten thread over to here.

Who will volunteer to do this to their Bean?!:

It was a joke at first, but actually the vastly superior harmonic content of every note that comes out of my TB would probably make it the best guitar you could ever use for something like this. Think of all the beautiful overtones. Maybe I'll experiment on a Kramer.

HOLY SHMOLY!

Man, that's a lot of fret work! I'd have to charge extra for some of them and that one, the 62 tone just. NO WAY! I'd hate to even think about making that one work. That's some really good work, incredible.

This is from one of my customers. He bought the guitar 1977 in NY, they told him it came from Grateful Dead. The guy installed a Kahler Tremolo and a Gibson PAF in neck position...

You asked for it! I've just joined, see Database / Standard #1092. There is also a pic of a Bean pickup with the cover off for all interested.

Please don't be to hard on me. I was a young man.

The Band name was "TITAN". Whoo! wish I was better on the dates but must be very late 70s early 80s.

The drummer made the flashpots. Scared the S**t out of me. Wish I could remember what song they went off on. I'll take some better pics of the pickup sometime. I wish I had better, or any pics when it was mint. Thanks to an old girlfriend for giving me the Band pics.

admin- I owe you a beer by the way, Nice Site!

Dave: Yes what a great Bean story! Your photos bring back many memories for me. I briefly was the roadie/lighting guy for a band during the same time frame (1978-79) We didn't have any flash pots but just a few colored spots and strobes I seem to remember. The lead guitarist played a Bean, which at the time I thought was such an exotic and unobtainable guitar for me. Everyone I knew at that time modified everything. It was just what you did when you had an electric guitar. My vintage strat I had then, had been stripped and refinished 2-3 times and I stripped it back to natural alder (yuck) ....yup natural wood was all the rage wasn't it?
