hi all,

well i think that my housmates have convinced me that 1113 is a beautiful slab of koa, and covering it would be wrong. i think theyre right, its really a bit magical. has that 3d glow in spots. but the guitar was red at some point. im thinking it was refinished red, than stripped again. you can see the red overspray under the plate where the extra knob is, and theres no overspray in the control cavity. does this make sense? also some red imbedded in the grain, its hard to see in person unless your really looking.

and im wondering about the fretboard. the side markers are actually poking through a bit. and some fret have little indents. the guy i bought it from is a friend of stanley jordans and calls himself "the tapper" some im sure the frets got some abuse. the side markers dont effect playing, im just wondering if its something i should be concerned about. it actually plays really nice, although it could really use a set up and fret dressing.

the wiring with the piezo is all funky. but i dont have to use it as it requires a stereo plug. i tried it for about 5 minutes and that was nearly enough for me to go get a pair of wire cutters. not for me. im leaning towards having kevin make me a new pickup. the question is humbucker or single coil!

thanks

I was the previous owner of 1113. When I bought it back in '88 I guess the owner before was in love with picnic tables because it was completely covered with redwood stain. I hand sanded it off and sealed it with tung oil.
