this is my first post and this is my first TB. just got it today--paid too much for it, but it sounds ******* fantastic. the neck is nice and fat--and is worn in. the shine is worn off between the 1st and 7th frets, but it quite honestly feels good--similar to a wooden neck with the finish worn off. i guess the knobs are unoriginal and i found a recent ebay listing for this exact guitar that says the tuners are replacements.

it was signed by Duane Denison and Steve Albini. and inside the cavity--under the pots someone wrote what apprears to be "Frank in the Tank". ???

some of these pics were taken from the store i bought it from:

"Frank in the Tank" this is a great story. Frank was the person during this time putting the electronics in Beans. He may have actually been in the 'Tank' during your build and someone wrote that in there. Frank made electronic modules so if he was unavailable someone could easily drop a module and make a few solder connections and get the Bean out the door.

Could I add these photos to the Bean Photo Gallery?

Thanks!

another question--just trying to resolve this issue about the tuners being replacements/non-orig or not. the tuners totally appear to be orig. perhaps the ebay listing was misinformed? do you guys have any insights? here's a pic:

Hello HiwattBob

Those are Schallers that normally came with Standards/Artists, I was going to say original, but those look slightly different than mine. Could be the reflection/angle. Look in the photo gallery for TB1000A #100, the portion of the post going from the headstock to the tuner (where your fingers touch) has a curved flute. Yours appears to go straight at an angle. Could be a later style of Schaller?

Thanks!

Also, wanted to point out.. that's a TB1000S you have (not TB1000A). Standards have the flat top with dot inlays. Artists have carved top with block inlays.

Thanks!

hmmm. judging by the pics--i'm hard pressed to find anything different about my schallers and the others. i think that must be a different angle or something on the #100. because they certainly look identical to all the others.

i've got a question in to the guy who originally listed it on ebay to see if he knows anything specific.

also--how do you edit thread titles/posts/etc.?
