Interesting. This guitar was offered for sale by the Maverick auction site a few years ago. It's not clear that it ever sold, but perhaps the line in the e-bay listing about Steve Parish suggests that there was in fact a buyer. $325,000 is a lot of lettuce. Here are some shots of the two Garcia TB 500 prototypes. #11 and #12 (I think). They look to have a thicker body and different shape than the production 500s. The body was probably created to be compatible with the original TB neck design. Yep... TB500s #11 - #19 were using standard necks with the thick bodies. #20 is where they started with the classic TB500 style with new body shape and thickness and thinner neck receiver. admin

There never was a buyer boulderbean. Do you know who Steve Parish is? Also, the guy selling this guitar was a former partner of Maverick Music.

Thanks Beanman. Sure I know about Steve Parish, Garcia's friend and guitar tech for many years. Since the E-Bay listing indicated the items had been purchased from Parish I took that to mean there could have been a sale from the Maverick Music auction. I gather there wasn't. Do you know if #12 was ever sold?
