Does anyone know of a brand that manufactures a hard case that would fit a TB2000 (earlier body shape specifically)? I've had a hell of a time finding one! The closest I have come was a Gator case whose foam molding could be hammered in to fit the wide body of the Bean. However, the case itself was absolutely enormous--- about the thickness of a flight case and about a an extra foot of space on the inside. I don't think I'd be able to fit it in my car with all my gear!

Hey Chelsea,
G&G cases makes a Mosrite sized case that fits a late model TB2000 bass very well. I've seen these in two different lengths though, so be sure to specify that you want the 42.75 inch long by 15.5 inch (exterior dimensions) version. The interior dimension of the body area is 21.25 in. by 14.5 in across, check you bass to see if it will fit. A friend and I are having a run of detail correct TB2000 cases made, but it's on the 2010 to do list.
Here is the contact for G&G;

Its been a long time, but when I bought my TB2000 in 1976 it seems they just used a Fender case. I'm pretty sure it is the same size. I know Burbank Music (think that was the store's name) did not have cases from Travis Bean. The case seemed too wimpy for the 11.6 pound TB2000, so I beefed it up with extra screws and its lasted with no problem at all all these years, and its been on some really rough gigs, dropped off carts, etc.

Seawolf--
Do you personally have one of these G&G cases? If so do you have a photos? Do you know if it winds up being really oversized lengthwise? I guess I can't be too picky at this point, but I'm definitely interested in buying one.

Chelsea,
The fit is spot on, and yes I have one of the cases. Send a photo request and I'll return a bass + case pic if needed at wireinstruments at comcast.net . The G&G folks can take the bass dimensions as well and make sure you get a case that fits the best.
Woof.

Thanks for your help! I wound up calling and they weren't sure of the exact case I wanted so they had me send a tracing of the TB and they'll custom make one to fit it perfectly. It was pretty inexpensive too for a custom job and a nice quality case--- $175 plus $20 shipping. Can't wait to receive it!
