Hello all,
I was going thru some old hard drives and found an old collection of about 160 Bean pics. These are all from around 2001 or so. It seems information was scarce back then (back in the ez-board days), as I scoured the internet for anything Bean related I'd save whatever I could find. Several of these are from E-bay auctions including the german beans.

Highlights
origional prototype
double neck wedge (front and back)
several of the 1998 basses
fairly clear pics of 2 of teh 1998 guitar prototypes
my disassembled 500
some literature and ads

Also there are a couple random pics of Neil Youngs Les Paul and his set up.

I dont have SN's for most of these but I'll post what I can in the gallery when I get some time.

Anyway Enjoy

Your all welcome, I'm happy to share..

I went thru the flickr set and deleted the duplicates, I also added all the pics I have of my beans, they are at the end of the set.

Also if anyones interested take a look at my other set, its some drawings and paintings I've done. I feel this is a good group of people and I've been working in a vacuum lately. I'd appreciate any feed back, either here or in the Flickr set.

Thanks

I very much like the look of the white Travis Bean from "BadComrade"
Was Koa standard on most Travis Beans?

Was this recently? When was the last time that doubleneck was seen by somebody here? Also why have so many of these instruments turned up in Germany? I heard that there's a major German collector, but maybe there's more than one even? lotta questions ;)

Hi,
i'm from Cologne/Germany. There used to be a vintage Guitarshop here, and around 93 there was a bunch of beans showing up, Doubleneck wedge, prototype, two 500's etc. The two 500's still are the most beautiful guitars i have ever seen, i directly felt in love but they have been to expencive for me! 700$ each!! Haha! One was black, the other white, incredible pieces of artwork.
Most of the beans have been in the store for about 10 years, I remember that the price for the 500's was 2500 Euro in 2001.
The shop closed a few years ago and the owner started to run an ebay shop called music-outlet-shop. I guess you could contact him via ebay.
I've heard the story that they bought all the beans from the owner of a sexshop in LA and that they all belonged to Travis Bean personaly.
Cologne seems to be a bean magnet. I bought my 1000S here and I've seen a thin body/wide horn
magnolia 1000S in another shop a year ago.
This is a pretty cool website!
Greetings from cologne
Andreas

Ellai!
cool to hear your story, because I played at popkomm 2001 or 2000 at koln and also visited that same shop. There were about 16 very spcial beans. The owner was not super friendly in the beginning, but later showed me all the guitars. Prices were high for 2001. Indeed in the range of 2500E.
It was 2 years later that I bought my TB 500 just for 600E in The Netherlands. That shop had mainly acoustic guitars if I remember correctly... I remember dropping a (White) tb 500 alomst to the floor... but it was stoped by an acoustic guitar on its way down... It was hanging high and I did not know that they were top-heavy...too bad for the acoustic..aiaiaia!.
Now you have rema music in koln. You know that guy? he is very nice.
