Hey,
Greg Bailey built me a Guitar with aluminium neck some years ago which I tend to use every day. So the problem seems to keep it clean. At the moment my hands are grey after using it and I don't know how to stop this or how to treat the aluminium. I've tried a light paste called metal polish which seems to clean it pretty well. But still the black stuff comes from the aluminium.
Maybe you can tell me how you keep your aluminium clean and if you've got something to protect it?
Cheers
Jens

Check out page 75 of Electrical Audio's (www.electrical.com) forum thread on 'Electrical Guitar Company'. Here's what they suggest:
http://www.mothers.com/02.....products/05100-05101.html

and from the thread: Get it at any auto parts store, btw.
Get a three pack of the terry cloth towels while you are there, and just follow the instructions on the can. I did my Standard a couple weeks ago, the neck and body. Does a great job. It will turn the rag black.

good luck!
