I was at the Philly Guitar Show yesterday and methodically went up one row/one side at a time looking for a Bean. #141 was the last guitar at the show.
The dealer said that he's had it for about two weeks and that it is a refinish. From the dealers website: "Natural finish over magnolia body, all original pickups, parts, etc. The inside of the control cavity is black, so this was probably a refin natural - but it's a pro job and does not look like most refins"
After looking at the Database, I thought I got the number wrong. Then I saw the photo that had the two screws in the pickguard - same guitar.
The main reason for this post is to note how surprised I was at how different that neck was form my Bean.(and also as an FYI to Hank) The 143 neck was identical to an old Les Paul I had ¦ baseball bat --- I loved it and love 143.
As soon as I got home I checked my Bean and it's neck is tapered and at the 1st fret is thin ... kind of like an SG.

I noticed the same thing with my 143 bass and my friend's 1XXX bass. Everything about the later generation bass was thinner.
