Yes.. this'll be interesting. Usually basses are in the $1K - $2K range. There was a bass that sold for $3250 in Sept/2007.

I bet if you look at any area of the "vintage market", the corresponding bass to the guitar of its class will be going for less. Like a 50s P Bass vs a Strat, etc.
We love bass players, we are bass players. But bass players tend to not have the same kind of 'obsessing with the aura of mystique' as guitar players. they're a little more sane, so unwilling to pay such huge amounts? that's my guess anyway.

There simply are not as many bass players. Less demand = lower price. Right?
