Hey friends - There's a photo of this guitar of mine in the database, but I here's link to much more extensive pictures, just because. It's a white TB1000A in a very rare Pearl finish. It's from the tail end of the first style, narrow body thick horns. There are several shots, for comparison, with my 1000S which is normal white. You can see how different the finish is. And all of the closeup shots at angles are to try to show the pearl... which is very hard to capture in a photo. The finish is almost holographic, like looking in 3D, just a little bit. It's hard to speak about this guitar without using superlatives, but I don't know of a finer Bean in a cooler finish anywhere! Enjoy ;)

Wow that is gorgeous. The carved top looks positively muscular with the pearl finish. Spectacular.

Wow man, that's pretty sweet. I never really dug the artist... but that is a fine fine looking guitar!

I'm curious - does anyone else here own a guitar with this finish? I think that all of the Wedges have pearl finishes (yes?) but only a handful of Artists. I wish y'all could see it in person, because it's hard to explain in photos.

That's a beautiful guitar!
My Wedge is blue pearl. In low light it looks black (always thought it was just black). After Hank told me about pearl, I took it out in brilliant sunshine and looked at the finish with a magnifying glass ¦. (very hard to explain) ¦but it looked like one of those shots of the cosmos ¦ black infinity with blue (pearl) stars throughout - a really, really nice paint job!
Regarding the shape/contours of the Artist: Awesome photos. It appears to me that the Wedge has that exact shape/tapper and that maybe the Artist and Wedge were run through the same jig at the factory.
Again, thanks for the photos!
Joe

JoeF - More and more I'm recognizing the threads in 20th century guitar building tied by Roger Rossmeisl, who introduced German building ideas to Rickenbacker.... while Semie Moseley was working there briefly, and hence Mosrites, and other places. Some pretty cool EGCs in this terrain too.
overandout - No I'm in New York. I've got way too much email spam, so write at this alternate address and I'll get back to you from my normal email. The spambots have a way of picking up on any email address posted in any form, oy. apossibleworld **** gmail -- get it?

Not all wedges were pearl. Mine's just plain old white (yellowing with age).
Nice artist, by the way.

Ditto there, mine's red, no pearl. I photographed a non pearl black one at the Hollywood Guitar Center in 1996. Looking through the database and from what I've run across, I'd surmise that most Wedges were not pearl finishes, but a higher percentage than the other models for certain.
