Hello, all.
I am thinking of buying a Bean, but the one I am currently looking at doesn't have a serial number in the control cavity or on the lip of the control cavity. The body definitely looks original. Were serial numbers in the cavity the rule or are there some out there that did not have this feature?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello 61SG
Sometimes the serial number is not in the control cavity. Is this a painted Bean or a natural finish? Unfortunately, the other location for the serial number is under the piece of wood between the pickups.

Thanks for the quick reply. It is a natural, non-painted finish. I doubt I'll be able to check the other location for the serial number.

My Bean had a natural finish, and the body's serial number was written underneath the bridge. Getting the owner to remove the bridge may be a tough sell, but it's much less involved than getting a look at the receiver cavity.
Kind regards, Matt
