Were Beans ever made without serial numbers? I have heard stories of employees who's personal guitars had no serial numbers, but these of course are stories, not anything I've had confirmed by an expert.

My brother worked at Bean and at one time had 8 TB guitars. All of them had serial numbers. One guitar, a Koa Artist, doesn't have the serial number stamped on the headstock but on the back of the neck at the base where the strings come through. It also has "Made in the USA" stamped there as well.
In the production notes on the first page of the TB500 section, there is a note that says something like "Marc has un-numbered magnolia". There is a scan of that page somewhere around here. It's also possible that when the shop shut down there were some un-numbered necks that were auctioned off.
