Chceck the database for a quick pic - standard #1333. All original (except the knobs) with original case. Factory black finish, ebony board, polished neck, one of the rare painted, wide horned thick body models. Email ggates67@msn.com for details & more pics.

Sold for $7,000 (presumably) with "buy it now". Is that a record for a standard? Does anyone have an idea of how many of the wide-horn, thick body standards and artists were made?

My observations based on guitars from old ebay auctions etc (now greatly enhanced by the fantastic photogallery!) These are VERY rounded off numbers:
900 narrow horn standards 200 wide horn thick standards 300 wide horn thin standards

Thanks Charlie. Those numbers seem about right to me.
The buyer of the black Bean is apparently from the Netherlands.Given the exchange rate we can probably expect more Beans to fly over the Atlantic. This buyer likes Beans and also bought #855 in February (1000A - $4550).
Nice sale GG. Any regrets about using BIN?

No regrets BoulderBean. I got what I wanted out of it.
And you're right about overseas buyers. I sold #515 a few months back for $4700 to a player in the UK, and that seemed an outrageous price for a koa.
No one in the US was willing to go into the $5K range for 1333.
No chance these guitars come back to even 2006 prices anytime soon.
