His first Bean was a white TB1000A. From the information I've been able to piece together, he got sometime in mid-1975 and played it consistently until summer 1976. You can see a good picture of it on the cover of "Don't Let Go". He played this guitar unmodified as far as I can tell.

He then acquired a TB500 which he played from summer/fall of 1976 through fall of 1977. Pictures place this guitar as the one he was playing for most of 1977. This means he probably played it on Terrapin Station (haven't verified this) and he played on the Dead's famous Spring 1977 run. At some point he had the TB500 modified to run his effects in front of the volume pot. He also had it modified at the TB factory in Los Angeles around October of 1976 right before the Dead played at the Shrine in L.A.
