Hi, I need the template too. I'm building plexi body, and will modify it a bit so I can attach kramer dmz1000 neck to it. I wanted to draw it by hand but I think that if I can get exact measures, especially cavities, it would save me a lot of work and experimenting. Finally, I will have plastic guitar for the grown-ups I always wanted. :))))))

Hello Mihael
Thanks for doing that. I was wondering if you could export this file into another format? Is it possible to export to .ai, .eps, .psd or at the very least .pdf?
I would love to include this on the site. I was having trouble opening the corel draw file, my version may be too old.
Thanks! admin

Very interesting. So you created a base plate to mount the pickups and Kramer neck?

:) neck only, pickups are mounted tightly on plexi body. I have removed epoxy coating from the neck at the joint location, so that joint could be as tight as possible (http://www.edroman.com/techarticles/directcoup.htm). Also, I haven't glued the base plate to plexi (as I planned), instead, I used bridge screwes and 4 additional countersunk screws to hold it together. Guitar is heavy, but not heavier that original DMZ1000. Action is perfect, and after having to cut the bridge saddle screws I got the perfect intonation (my design flaw in positioning the bridge). Weight balance is also ok (pure luck). Now, sustain is awsome, I remember the sustain of TB1000A, and it's somwhere there - loooong :) - longer than my TB500. The sound is pretty cold, colder than TB500, and not that "plastic" as I expected. TB500 pickups kick butt and sound way nicer than Kent Armstrong P90 and DiMarzio Air Classic I used. KAP90 has a dip in middle freq which I don't like, DMZAC sounds plain, like strat - however both are fine and sound very good compared to the other guitars that I had a chance to play. After initial excite of how good it turned out, I compared it to TB500... well, for me, TB500 is still the best sounding and versatile guitar I have ever had a chance to play ) :) This guitar was a gift for a friend, Razorblade Jr. of Gone Bald (http://www.gonebald.net - check it out) who trashed it on stage, and has thus given me oportunity to rebuild it with plexi body :)))))
Thanx for the interest, and sorry for so much babbling, after all this it TB related website :)
Mihael
