how come your always such a cranky ****** beanman? people use this site because they love tb guitars. they love them in great shape and they love them beat to hell because someone played hard. and some of us even love the yellowing better than the original white! besides, its up to $3500! so someone thinks its quite a beautiful instrument. maybe you could tone down your self righteous criticism a bit and enjoy this community and resource for what it is, a group of folks looking to share thier knowledge and enthusiasm and encouragement. if not, than whatever, you just come across as a prick.

cheers travis...Its my bean for sale...and I don't want to comment...let the photos do the talking (ps there are new photos up)...If someone wants to be a cockgobbler...so be it...maybe I'm asking to much...maybe I'm not...I'm going to let the auction determine the value...I think mine is more pleasing to look at than the one that went for $5,200...but thats my take
But I agree...Though I always wanted white...when I saw the yellowed finish I fell in love
It looks bad ass...It feels bad ass...and it sounds bad ass...
I just refuse to play a $3,000 guitar live...I have guitars that cost $300...that sound good and if I brake them....chip the paint...they get stolen...I can live...my 1000 will keep me satisfied

well said, sol and travis. beanman thinks he loves and knows more about TBs than any of us do. that's a really nice 500, sol. the yellow and the checking give it a nice look. i'd be thrilled to own a 500 whatever it looked like. i might have to settle for a 500 custom by electrical guitar co.

I was just sticking up for the brown one that was sold on Ebay last week. Chris said it was "pooh brown" which most beans are. Also said that the cracks were bad, whem let's face it, a crack on the back of a guitar is a crack on the back of the guitar. Outside of hookering, was not aware that value was attributed to the size of a crack!!

We've now seen two TB 500s sell on E-Bay in the same month. It seems that $5,000 - $5,250 is what the market will bear at the moment. It is quite rare to see 500s come up for sale like this and my personal feeling is that they are under valued. There are only a few hundred (if that) of these guitars in existence.
Given what people will pay for vintage strats and Gibsons, I think Beans are a good value considering the playability, quality, durability, sound, and other intangibles (like which rock stars have played each model). I wish I had $5K to lay down for a 500....brown, white, or pink!
I'm constantly impressed and delighted everytime I play my Bean. It is like no other guitar. This forum is a reminder that I'm not alone in this experience.

In 1999, there was a guy in Lawrence Kansas and he put up for aution a yellow/off white TB500. His requiremnet was you must drink beer to own it. It went up to 645.00 and I said thats way too much for it...
Those were the days.
