Hi there- I recently got to play a TB Flying V. It's a really cool guitar but I've been unable to find any documentation that there was a TB flying V in production. It has a 300's sn and it doesn't look like it has been modified. Any info out there? Thanks!

There was no Flying V built by the factory. The Flying V with the Travis Bean neck is not original and has been floating around for years. I got a chance to ask Travis about it in around 2009 to confirm if there was any factory made flying V and he laughed and said no.

Hello Folks, The flying V shown on this website under "other misc. model" is in my possession / currently in Europe. It is made of a custom body with tb1000 humbuckers and a tb500 neck.

How did you wind up with it Humbuck? That V was put together from parts sold off years after Travis closed his business. I know who did the work to fit it together and I know the original owner. I saw it for sale around 2006 or 2009 when it was in the hands of a dodgy LA dealer. I don't remember liking it much. I knew its history before I saw it in person so It was uncomfortable when the seller kept telling me first hand made up stories of it being a factory original guitar

I purchased the guitar from a guy who represented Nicky P. I was told by him that the guitar was a travis bean prototype V

Sorry to hear you did a deal for a Nick P guitar and sorry you were mislead by that crew. Nicky P and I believe a friend of his, a guy named Jesse contacted me on my MySpace page when I had a few Travis Bean photos up. They felt very shady and really pestered me a lot. Hope they didn't get you to pay too much for that thing?

The unoriginal V and unoriginal Map guitar are currently both for sale together. Seller is asking $12,000 for the pair and will not separate. The last two Beans I would buy but whatever floats your boat.
