Narrowing a TB2000 neck

I have a TB 2000 (553)and the neck is like a telephone pole. Is there anyone out there who knows how to narrow the neck to the equivalent of say, a 'P' or Jazz bass??? I've talked with a friend of mine who owns a foundry/machine shop and he is reluctant to do any machineing on it.

The necks aren't solid, and it'd be hard to tell how much could safely be machined away. The later basses have thinner necks. I'd recommend just selling yours and looking for one in the 800+ serial range. I might be interested in your bass if you decide to sell. . . email me at lph1@duke.edu.
