I just about got all my info to post my bean on ebay finally. Thru the community found a calculator that explains all the fees etc. My only ? now is when will I be charged? I worried I would be charged if it didn't sell but some friends assured me I won't, ebay also isn't charging insertion fees for up to 5 items. However, If my Bean sells I will be charged 101 bucks from ebay and 93 bucks from paypal-do they take these fees out before I get my money? or do I have to pay them before I can get to my profit? I only ask cuz most days I dont have 200 bucks to spare and I would hate for them to hold my money hostage. thanks if anyone can shed some light

Ebay holds onto the money you get for your bean until you pay them. If you do not pay them in 48 hours they will confiscate all of your money and send goons to your house to confiscate your bean!.....In reality you do not have to pay ebay for about a month. They send you an invoice for your "fees" at the end of every month. If you do not pay your ebay bill they suspend your account. Paypal automatically deducts its cut when you receive your payment. Don't be one of the schmucks that leaves their bean up on ebay for years at a ridiculous price hoping for a sucker. Put it up their for what it is worth and get it over with. It would be nice to see a bean sell on ebay for a change.

I think every one on here would agree that 2495 would get your guitar sold in a reasonable amount of time. Many "no case" standards have sold for that on ebay. The max you can hope to get is 3k without a case. I hope i am not bursting your bubble but I think every one will agree with me.

You might not sell right away for that amount, but I do think it is a fair price to ask. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of pre-CBS strats and 50s Les Pauls for sale at any given time. There are only a handful of Beans for sale. You can't really gauge a marketplace by what some dealer is willing to take. Dealers have different reasons for setting their prices, and while last year they were raising them artificially, this year some people are selling guitars below cost, just to pay the rent. Do what you feel is right. But also, yes it is very cool to see people selling them for less, and letting people who have wanted Beans for years and not been able to afford them, finally go for it.

I haven't seen any Travis Bean Guitar sell on Ebay for less than 3500.

(There might be a damaged one or something that escaped my attention).
