I have a TB2000 that has a crack just below the bridge.Any suggestions on what to do about it?I'm also looking for some place in the Milwaukee,WI or Chicago,IL area to have this repaired.Any referals would be greatly appreciated.

Rockhaus in Milwaukee has handled a lot of aluminum instruments, so you might give them a call. I'm sure there are few folks in Chicago too, hmmm. Good luck with it. Did it crack on its own, or was it damaged in an accident?

thanks for info.I took about 8 years off from playing and just left it in the case,when I finally pulled it out again,there it was,a CRACK! that really sucks!

I also have a bass with this crack behind the bridge problem. I think the bass bodies are particularly vulnerable because there is such a small amount of wood holding the 2 halves together. Its really like a "U" of wood wrapping around the aluminum neck/bridge chassis with a "bridge" of wood between the pickups. The basses have a wider bridge of wood than the guitars between the pickups while the guitars have more wood behind the bridge. I think the best long term solution is to make sure the chassis is well attached to both wings of the wood body. I am thinking of adding more screws from the neck chassis into the body wings. These would be concealed by the pickups etc once the bass is put back together. Before this a good luthier could fix the crack by carefully working glue into it and clamping the pieces together. Unfortunately to do that the crack needs to be opened up enough to work glue in there.
