This guitar was rumored to be one of Jerry Garcia's ...but I cannot verify this (probably a reoccuring story).
The wood and aluminum in the body cavity have been modified to accept single coil pickups. The electronics are one of Alembic's first active EQ systems (contacted Alembic directly) and are "in-line" with what was being developed for Jerry Garcia at that time. It has a very unique and distinct sound.
