At the moment I am listening to some old Runaways material on Youtube trying to spot the Wedge, so far without succes.

Very cool material!
So from what time onwards and till when did Peggy join the band? Or was It al throughout it's existence.

From Wikipedia (maybe Peggy can correct any errors):

The Runaways were formed in late 1975 by drummer Sandy West and rhythm guitarist Joan Jett after they had both introduced themselves to producer Kim Fowley, who gave Jett's phone number to West.

Starting as a power trio with singer/bassist Micki Steele, The Runaways began the party and club circuit around Los Angeles. They soon added lead guitarist Lita Ford who had originally auditioned for the bass spot. Steele got fired from the group, later resurfacing in The Bangles. Local bassist Peggy Foster took over on bass but left after a month. Lead singer Cherie Currie was found and recruited in a local teen nightclub called the Sugar Shack, followed by Jackie Fox (who had originally auditioned for the lead guitar spot) on bass.

Yes, that is accurate. After Jackie joined, Cherie left, then Jackie quit, Vicki Blue played bass, Joan left, Vickie quit, then Laurie McAllister played bass with Lita and Sandy for a short time.
When The Runaways movie came out last year, we found that the writer had made up a bassplayer named Robin that was supposed to be a composite of all 5 of us (but had no lines). We bassplayers know each other and keep up on Facebook. I suggested that we write a movie named "Five Bassplayers" and Jackie suggested that we form a band named The Robins. LOL

Thanks for the heads up guys.

So Peggy, in the short time that you played with the Runaways did you use the wedge at some point of time?

The bass I used in The Runaways in 1975 was made by Marc; the body was teak (he said the color matched my hair) that he hand made in the fender precision shape, and the neck was a fender precision (they were still letting repairmen buy them). He and Travis were working on the Travis Bean Guitars. They made my Wedge in 1976, my fretless Travis Bean Bass too. I used the fretless on Steve Vai's albums, I played both of them in his band. You can hear the fretless on Steve's website, discography, scroll down through his 100 or so albums to Flexable, Salamanders in the Sun. The fretless is also on his Anthology Album. There are a couple of videos on You Tube of me playing the Wedge Bass in Acme Jazz Band.
