Nice custom made standard at 30th street guitars...low serial (300's if I remember right)
Has TB500 single coil in middle postion (i.e. HB - single - HB) and unusual switching (two 3 ways which I couln't figure out, and a coil tap switch for each HB)
I almost bought it (2 beans...) but it's set up like shit...definetly will need some tlc...but it looks good
just thought I's share ...not a bad price for a one off'er
whats weird is the low seriel would place production before TB500 pickups were being made...anybody have any thoughts
Sol I miss my 500 I'm waiting for my EGC

i went and played this guitar. sounds awesome. the config was truly weird and i couldn't figure it out. i think the serial is 938, not low 300's. which may explain how it had a tb500 pickup in it. also, the store jerk said that it was sent back to have the 500 p/u put in it. although, he said it was sent to bean himself to have this done.

Interesting...I thought it sounded rather flat...I tried it with one of the hiwatts and it just didn't give me anything that I expected (I play a 1000 through Hiwatt half stack)...Maybe I was frazzled from the work-day...again...the price is right...someone could be happy out there...unfortunately...not me

i chalked the mild flatness up to ridiculously dead strings. not a first for guitar stores. i feel like if i slapped some new ones on and took the time to figure out the weird set up, it would sound just fine.

sir you are probably correct...but the action was also way off...if I'm going to spend over $2k I expect the set up be correct...maybe it was the 11 (i'm used to 10's)
Those guys are crack head...before it was on the wall they told me $2.5k...then I went back a couple days later...and it had a $2k tag (thats when I posted the original message)
up to $3.8k now...hmm...maybe...to deep for my pockets...I could have egc build similar for almost half the price

i play 10s too. i didn't feel any problem with the action, but i play bass as well, so ANY guitar action feels low to me. agreed about expecting a setup to be proper when you are dipping that deep into the wallet.
i also fully intend to have kevin at egc build me a custom 500. since i KNOW i'll never find a TB500 within reason.

i like my egc but the pick ups dont do it for me. my 1000 is much clearer sounding, and thats got humbuckers!. im thinking about putting some p90's in, but i dont like ******* with guitars like that.
