Hello All
This is WAY off topic, but I wanted to help. The husband of my good friend from high school recently got extremely sick. Sick to the point of being unconscious for several days in ICU. He was later diagnosed with Lyme disease. He's out of the hospital now, but this is where the request for help lays.
Both he (Joe) and his wife have no health insurance and are floored by the bills coming in. The hospital stay alone came to $36,000! His friends started a blog where people can donate to help ease this financial burden here:

Here is a sweet video of him singing and playing guitar. Let's throw a couple of bucks in his guitar case! Or if you have any unused gear, you can donate to their eBay auction to help raise funds.

Thanks everyone! hank

i love ALOT about america. i love ALOT of the people of america. but this kind of thing pisses me off. $36,000 of medical bills and the government wont help out? that is obscene and completly unacceptable. poor guy. much as the NHS is truly in a shocking state due to 'the jobs for boys' bullshit inherent among the upper reaches of english society, this kind of shit is much less likely to happen in the uk. i truly hope he gets better and my thoughts are with him, his family and his friends. very sad.
