I have a TB1000S that has really had a rough life. Pickguard is missing, and the body of the guitar was actually broken away from the neck and then wood-glued back together. The finish is really rough, and you can see traces of glue near the repair lines. I plan to keep it forever, and my Son will probably do the same when I'm gone. So my question is, how terrible would it be to have this thing refinished, and if I do, does anyone have any tips or suggestions regarding the finish?

Seems to me that if the guitar is beat to heck, you might as well get it professionally restored. The "original" state has already been marred so there is no loss. I would get the thing repaired the right way, and then put a color on the body. If it is actually a color already...i would think you would want to match it instead of picking a different color. If it is clearcoat currently, I would consider which paint color you like the best :)

It wouldn't have the serial # 1630 would it?
