Not so. Inexpensive ones are still out there, you just have to work harder and faster to find them. Some examples are certainly gaining collector acclaim and deservedly so. Still, $4000 or so for a koa standard - considering the quality of the guitar ir relatively cheap, considering what $3000 gets you at Guitar Center.
