First post...and a sad one at that...
I think I'm going to sell my TB - 500. White (mellowed to cream), black pickguard and pickup, black paint job on the neck. Slight neck joint cracks.
So here's my question for the forum, how much is it worth?

i'm looking to buy a 500. what kind of condition is it in? do you have any pix? ball park asking price for a 500 is usually 2-4k, of course depending on condition.

The last white TB 500 that sold on E-Bay went for something astounding like $6,500. It was in really nice condition and looked a lot like Jerry Garcia's white 500. A 1000 standard just sold for $2,400. There just aren't very many of these instruments out there.

one on ebay right now with a start bid of $4000. he'll probably get that i would of thought as the neck looks great and there hasnt been one up for close to a year. bear in mind that garcia one went for about $5000 though and was a mint early version, that looks entirely different to the other version on ebay.

I think I'm going to wait and see what this auction goes for.
My neck cracks are siginificantly less prononced than the one on ebay right now. And ,I feel, its a heck of a lot prettier.
I should be getting picks today.

I'd say mine was also a lot prettier than this fella on EBay. I'd be looking for a similar price though.

I'm with ya...I've been thinking about it lately...
When I got my TB 500 a 1000 cost ~$1,800. I just saw a 1000 go on ebay thats very similar to the one I own for $2,400. A 33% increase. This supports a market price for a 500 starting around $4,000
I have some more thoughts that I'll post tonight...I also got the pictures today...so I'll be uploading online tonight...I might redo them...as they came out a little dark
