Wow, did anyone notice the finishing price on that extremely altered Veleno on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.com/Velen.....3A3%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1307
It had a routed body with a permanent Kahler tremolo and routed neck for the locking nut, as well as what appeared to be a serial # added after production (some Velenos left the factory / workshop without serial #s). Compare the text of the serial with the addition letters someone has etched on the back of the headstock plate. These are hard to value with alterations, since there are so few - what do others think - a fair price or over the top?

Yes I was totally surprised that it went for that much. But to be honest, we haven't really seen anything comparable on the market so it's hard to say. There was also some really fishy stuff going on with bid retractions at the last minute, like a whole bunch of em. The seller had told me that he has "buy it now" offers, but then didn't do anything about them. I'm not making an accusation, but I felt like maybe he regretted not taking them, and then it got bid way up at the end to try to match the previous offers, something like that. I have no clue.

Was it bought by someone here? I'm sure it's still a great guitar despite the changes.
