I have a TB4000 wedge with original anvil case. Black enamel in fair condition. This is not one of the holy grail 36 factory wedges but I speculate it was assembled by left over original parts after the factory closed. Paint is cracked / checked and case foam turned to dust years ago. I realize that the value may be less than the authentic original 36 TB4000's. Not really interested in selling however a few serious collectors have learned of its existance and have made some inquirys. Can anyone provide a value range that a fair condition parts assembled TB4000 wedge may be worth? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your response Vincent - looking more for a ballpark appraisal at this time from the Travis Bean experts on this board. I've owned this bass since the early 1980's - at least 25 years or more. Don't really have a need or urgency to sell at this time plus still getting plently of cool points for owning this rare bird in my local music community. I'm looking more for a range of values for my bass in case I make an unplanned early exit. Planning on educating the wife so she doesn't give away my bass collection a penny on the dollar. I'll repond to your e-mail with additional details.

I have never owned one of these so I have no real backup, but about a year ago I read about a mint original wedge bass that sold for 23k. (However, that may have been internet bs.) Since you are not actually trying to sell yours, I would guess 20k for a ballpark "insurance" value.
