TB1000A #708 which has been "refinished". The guitar is located in the UK. Looks to be missing 3 pole pieces

Currently there are 21 bids and is at 300 pounds ($494.70)

Yep, it's quite a state! I wonder who did that to it (and why?!).

Aside for the bridge saddles it's also missing the scratchplate and brass nut. The neck and tuners etc. are very dull (almost corroded), it looks like it's been in someone's shed or somewhere a bit damp for years!

It's quite close to where I live and I've been 'watching it' since just after it was listed. No idea where it will end up price wise but I'd love to buy it and restore it properly if I can...

i was hoping that no one would spot that guitar, he he. ive had my eye on that since it first came up - it does look a bit sad doesnt. whats even more depressing is to think it was originally a white 1000... where do you awkwardsilence if you dont mind me asking - south west london myself. didnt realise there where any other londoners on here.

How do you know that it is white underneath that paint job? I asked the seller and he is not sure what colour is under the paint job

Holmes, I live in Kent but often work very close to where that guitar is.
I saw it within minutes of it being listed and asked if he had a Buy It Now price. I'm not sure the seller knew much about what it was (certainly not from the initial description) but he didn't want to do a cash deal.
I noticed the original colour when I saw the extra photos he added. It looks like it'll be quite a bit of slow careful work removing the current paint job but if I get it I'll be sure it's put back to the original colour, as it should be.
I don't think there are many Brits on here at all. I still wonder just how many Beans there are here in the UK and the stories behind how they ended up over here?

I just looked at the newest photos - it looks like there's quite a lot of surface wear under the top coats of paint around the horns and on the bottom near the input jack. Also a couple of digs / dents in the fretboard wood... :(

It also looks like the pictures were taken in this guy's shed / garage from the background, maybe hence the metal parts looking so dull if it's been out there for some time.

Holmes, I wondered if you were the buyer?
We had a power cut at home because of the bad weather 10 minutes before the end of the auction until just after it had ended so I didn't even get to bid! I'm still pretty cross about it...
I intended to bid quite a bit higher than the selling price for it; I wanted it for a winter restoration project.

Thanks :)
